Villanova set to retire the jersey of Bulls guard Ryan Arcidiacono

Bulls guard Ryan Arcidiacono is a fan favorite for his hustle and team-first attitude. He adds a bit of joy to a Bulls season that has been otherwise been rather bleak. But Arcidiacono didn't recently become the fun, floor general that he is now. Many of those habits were formed under the tutelage of NCAA Championship-winning head coach Jay Wright at Villanova.

Over his four years with the Villanova Wildcats, 'Arci' averaged 11.1 points, 2.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.2 steals per game on 39.7% shooting from the field and 35.8% from the 3-point line.

Among the highlights of his stellar Villanova career, Arcidiacono made the 2012-13 Big East All-freshman team, was Big East Player of the Year in 2014-15, All-Big East in 2015-16 and he capped off his great college career with the coveted NCAA Tournament Most Oustanding Player award, picked up when the Wildcats won the Big East regular season title and National Championship in 2016.

Arcidiacono forever has a place in Villanova lore for his flawless execution of the play that set up Kris Jenkins for the title-winning shot in 2016, no doubt one of the main reasons he is getting his jersey retired so soon after the conclusion of his college career.

Along with Arcidiacono's jersey retirement on February 12, Toronto Raptors NBA Championship-winning guard Kyle Lowry will also see his Villanova jersey retired on February 26.
