As part of our coverage leading up to the 2015 NFL Draft we will provide profiles of 200 prospects, including what the scouts around the league are saying and video interviews with each player.

Christion Jones (WR), Alabama

5’10” | 182 lbs.

2014 stats:

19 rec, 264 yards, 1 TD

Projection:

Undrafted

What scouts are saying:

"Jones was recruited as a defensive back, but moved to receiver as a freshman. As a sophomore he emerged as a dangerous return specialist, and earned special teams Player of the Week honors with a 99-yard kickoff return against Ole Miss. In the Tide’s 2013 opener, Jones scored on a 72-yard punt rerun, a 94-yard kickoff return, and a 38-yard reception in a win over Virginia Tech. At his size, and with speed estimated in the 4.5 second range, Jones projects to a slot receiver at the pro level, but his versatility and vision as a return man could push his value into the middle rounds of the 2015 draft." - Justin Higdon, DraftBrowns.com

Fit for Bears:

Well, the last Christian Jones the Bears drafted (last year) turned out to be a pretty solid pick. Maybe they'll see another one? If the Bears are looking for someone to challenge kick returner Marc Marioni in training camp, Christion Jones can be a guy who comes in for some competition. The Bears punt return game last season was brutal, ranking last in the NFL with 109 return yards. Some competition might be something the Bears are willing to give a shot.
