Avisail Garcia won’t start a fourth straight game on Wednesday afternoon.

The White Sox rookie’s wife gave birth to the couple’s first child on Monday morning. Garcia didn’t return to the White Sox on Tuesday night and could rejoin the club on Wednesday, manager Robin Ventura said.

Players are given three days off when a child is born and with the White Sox far out of contention, there is no urgency for Garcia’s return.

Garcia has a .300/.333/.400 line with two homers and 13 RBIs in 126 plate appearances since he joined the team on Aug. 9. The outfielder came to the White Sox via the Detroit Tigers in a three-team trade that sent Jake Peavy to the Boston Red Sox.

Jordan Danks, who has a career-high 144 plate appearances this season, is starting a fourth straight game. Danks has also flourished since Alex Rios was traded to the Texas Rangers on Aug. 9. Danks has a .309/.391/.494 line with three homers and seven RBIs in 92 plate appearances since the Rios deal.

Wednesday’s lineup also features rookies Marcus Semien, Josh Phegley and Leury Garcia who will hit fifth, eighth and ninth, respectively.
