Baseball fans are always angling for a souvenir in the stands, going to great lengths to try to get their hands on a game-used ball.
But any old fan can catch a foul ball. How often do you see somebody snag a bat out of midair?
One fan in Seattle made quite the athletic play when Mariners catcher Kelly Shoppach accidentally let go of his bat in the fifth inning of Tuesday night's game against the White Sox and sent his lumber sailing into the stands behind the third-base dugout.
Maybe the fading White Sox, losers of eight straight, would like to sign him up? Maybe he could be the next Henry Rowengartner.
