Paul Konerko enters Monday’s series opener against the Cubs with 68 games played. In those contests, Konerko has hit 20 homers and driven in 53 runs, totals that project out to 48 homers and 126 RBIs over a full season. Here’s a look at some of Konerko’s best highlights from the Crosstown Cup.

White Sox 13, Cubs 9 | June 28, 2002 | U.S. Cellular Field
-- Konerko sparks an eight-run rally when Cubs starter Kerry Wood hits him in the head with a curveball. Konerko, who went 4-for-4 with four runs and four RBIs, homered twice, hit a go-ahead two-run shot off Joe Borowski as the Sox win 13-9.

-- With the game tied in the bottom of the eighth inning, Konerko caught hold of a 100-mph fastball from Cubs reliever Andrew Cashner and deposits it into the left-field bleachers.

-- Konerko, who finished the game 3-for-4 and also was hit by a pitch, singles in two runs, including one in the seventh, as the White Sox ended Carlos Silva’s 8-0 start to the season.

-- Carlos Zambrano’s shutout bid didn’t escape the third inning as Konerko crushed a three-run homer and the White Sox rolled to victory. The blast was the first of five Konerko hit off Zambrano in 32 at-bats.

White Sox 3, Cubs 2 | July 9, 1999 | U.S. Cellular Field
-- Banished to the bench in the teams’ meeting at Wrigley in June with Frank Thomas at first base, Konerko doubled in a run off Cubs pitcher Kevin Tapani in his first Crosstown Series at-bat. He finished 2-for-4.

White Sox 8, Cubs 6 | July 1, 2006 | Wrigley Field
-- After he grounded into a double play in his first at-bat, Konerko hit a game-tying solo home run off Cubs reliever Scott Eyre and the Sox rally again in the ninth when A.J. Pierzynski hits a three-run homer off Ryan Dempster.

--- Konerko, who finished 2-for-4, broke open a 1-all contest in the bottom of the third inning when he hit a bases-clearing, three-run double off Hall of Famer-to be Greg Maddux.

-- Konerko takes Cubs starter Matt Garza deep, a second-inning solo shot, and in doing so homers in a fifth straight game. Konerko, who a day earlier moved past Sox coach Harold Baines with his 385 th career homer, finished 2-for-3.

-- Konerko finishes a three-game assault on Cubs pitchers with three more RBIs with Maddux on the hill, his third straight game with three runs driven in. Over the series, Konerko went 6-for-12 with two home runs and nine RBIs.

-- Konerko’s two-run homer in the first off Cubs starter Jeff Samardzija got the Sox started but the slugger only got one more plate appearance as he was hit in the head and knocked out of the game and series. Konerko returned to the lineup on May 22.
