Rank J.J.
Tony Comment
1 Cardinals Rangers

JJ: Not just the best team -- they're the best organization in baseball right now.

Tony: Yu Darvish is pitching like he's in an 1996 Nintendo game.

2 Rangers Cardinals

JJ: Quietly, Derek Holland has passed Yu Darvish for the team lead in ERA.

Tony: One of these seasons, they actually won't rise above all the adversity, right? Right?
3 Reds Red Sox

JJ: Shin-Soo Choo and Joey Votto both have OBPs above .420.

Tony: Sunscreen and rosin can't heal Buchholz's shoulder.
4 Yankees Reds

JJ: Enter Tuesday with a 3.64 staff ERA.

Tony: If we're doing an MLB Fight Club, I wanna see Dusty Baker vs. Lou Piniella.
5 Braves Braves

JJ: Evan Gattis watch: 11 HR, 1.6 WAR (both are second-highest totals on the team).

Tony: You guys 'member when Uggla committed 3 errors in '08 ASG? Just like throwing it out there from time to time.
6 Tigers Tigers

JJ: Anibal Sanchez: 2.38 ERA, 11.19 K/9. Mercy.

Tony: I'm so glad I have Cabrera on my weekly fantasy team. Not that you guys care.
7 Red Sox Yankees

JJ: Clay Buchholz is good to go. Big relief.

Tony: Lyle Overbay: .769 OPS. Cubs remember him from his time in Milwaukee.
8 Pirates Pirates

JJ: Grilli's getting all the pub, but how about Mark Melancon? 1.00 ERA, has issued 1 walk in 27 IP.

Tony: Does Vegas have odds on Pirates fade post All-Star Break? I put it at 3:1.
9 Diamondbacks Diamondbacks

JJ: "A Dane Cook comedy album on mute."

Tony: I'm not sure why, but Didi Gregorius reminds me of Starlin Castro.
10 Giants Nationals

JJ: Angel Pagan's walk-off inside-the-parker may be the highlight of the year.

Tony: I'm going to move them down one spot each week until their run differential moves out of negative.
11 A's A's

JJ: Bartolo Colon just turned 40 and has a 3.82 ERA.

Tony: Hottest team in baseball right now.
12 Indians Giants

JJ: If they're going to contend, will they have to move on from Ubaldo Jimenez?

Tony: Remember when the Cubs had Angel Pagan?
13 Orioles Indians

JJ: Chris Davis, Manny Machado and Adam Jones providing an excellent core.

Tony: Nick Swisher would be a must-see in MLB's Fight Club.
14  Rays Orioles

JJ: Kelly Johnson: .296/.358/.570, 10 HR.

Tony: MLB offensive ranks: Runs (3rd), AVG (2nd), OBP (5th), SLG (1st).
15 Nationals Rays

JJ: NL's worst offense outside of Miami not supporting a solid pitching staff.

Tony: Kelly Johnson (.929 OPS) is having himself a year, huh?
16 Rockies Rockies

JJ: Add Dexter Folwer to the Tulo/CarGo conversation.

Tony: This is what this team can do with De la Rosa and Tulowitzki healthy.
17 Angels Royals

JJ: Ripped off eight straight wins, but can they catch Texas?

Tony: The fade has come Fast and Furious.
18 White Sox White Sox

JJ: Playing much better as of late, finally supporting solid starting rotation.

Tony: They were climbing fast before they ran into the mighty Cubs on Memorial Day.
19 Phillies Phillies

JJ: Offense doesn't look good enough to make a run.

Tony: Has anybody suggested trading Cliff Lee to the Angels yet?
20 Royals Mariners

JJ: Sinking fast since encouraging start.

Tony: Hisashi Iwakuma is a heck of a trade deadline piece.
21 Blue Jays Angels

JJ: This is the best.

Tony: More like LOSS Angeles, amirite?
22 Dodgers Dodgers

JJ: Beckett aside, the guys they got from Boston are panning out nicely.

Tony: Can I make the same joke twice?
23 Padres Cubs

JJ: By FanGraphs' WAR, they have the worst pitching staff in baseball.

Tony: Jeff Samardzija loves the smell of steel mills, you guys.
24 Mariners Blue Jays

JJ: Not making much progress with Ackley, Montero not panning out.

Tony: Munenori Kawasaki or Taka Tanaka? You decide.
25 Twins Padres

JJ: Is top prospect Kyle Gibson ready? 2.82 ERA in Triple-A.

Tony: If I say something about Cashner staying healthy as a SP, would that jinx it?
26 Cubs Twins

JJ: Jeff Samardzija was dazzling Monday night, in case you missed it.

Tony: Kevin Correia is a nice, under-the-radar trade deadline piece.
27 Brewers Brewers

JJ: They've quietly faded into the background and basement of NL Central.

Tony: Man, this season has gone from bad to worse, huh?
28 Mets Mets

JJ: They're not in the same class of bad as Houston or Miami...but they're bad.

Tony: Is David Wright starting to question signing his life away to the Mets?
29 Astros Marlins

JJ: Does it count as a moral victory if they finish with a better record than Miami?

Tony: They have the worst record in MLB, but...
30 Marlins Astros

JJ: Entered Tuesday 13-38. Woof.

Tony: ...I just couldn't get over the Astros' -100 run el, so they had to be ranked last.
