DETROIT — Avisail Garcia is back in the lineup after four games off following the birth of his daughter.

Though sad he had to leave his baby at home, the White Sox outfielder is in good spirits Friday after he needed an extra day because of complications. Garcia’s wife, Anakarina, gave birth to the couple’s first child, daughter Annarella, on Monday. Garcia said Friday his daughter was released from the hospital on Thursday and is doing fine.

“Everything’s good now,” Garcia said. “Thanks to the White Sox. They gave me a day, and I appreciate that. I feel great because my little girl is healthy. ... When you see a little baby in the bed you don’t want to leave her alone. I know she’s in good hands with my wife and my mom. I’ve just got to work. Soon I’m going to be with her again.”

The White Sox gained Garcia but lost Dayan Viciedo, who also went out on paternity leave. Viciedo’s wife, Anais, gave birth to the couple’s second child on Friday morning, manager Robin Ventura said. Ventura isn’t sure when Viciedo would return to the club, which opened a three-game series in Detroit on Friday.
