It's been a banner week for Jose Abreu, and now the White Sox first baseman is being recognized for it as he's been named the co-American League player of the week for April 21-27, along with Seattle's Kyle Seager.

Abreu batted .310 with five home runs, a league-best 14 RBI, eight runs scored and a .862 slugging percentage.

He recorded his third multi-home run game of the season on Friday and drove in a career-high six runs in the White Sox 9-6 victory, including a game-winning grand slam.

Abreu became the first White Sox player to win the award since Alejandro De Aza on July 8-14, 2013.
