Paul Konerko didn't understand how Frank Thomas — or Greg Maddux, for that matter — didn't receive 100 percent of the Hall of Fame vote, but was happy to see his former teammate earn a bid to Cooperstown on the first try.
"The Hall of Fame and everything, as far as numbers, he's right up there," Konerko said at SoxFest. "He's kind of in the Hall of Fame of Hall of Famers as far as numbers go. Not a surprise, definitely a first-ballot guy."
Thomas, who received 84 percent of the Hall of Fame vote, finished his career with 521 home runs and a .974 OPS. The pair played together with the White Sox from 1999-2005, and rank in the Top 5 in White Sox history in home runs, runs, hits, doubles, RBIs and walks.
