Strengths

Has the delivery of Daniel Hudson, repertoire of Tim Hudson and competitiveness of Jake Peavy. Has top-level athleticism. Features a plus sinker/slider combo and is a groundball machine.

Weaknesses

Delivery may be too energetic to take on a starter's workload, changeup still a work in progress.

He said it

On his best trait as a player: "Probably my mental game, or how the way I compete. I grew up I hating losing, I hated it. In school, my mom used to tell me when I was younger I would try to finish my tests as fast as possible so I'd be the first one done. I think it's just, I was born with the competitiveness I have so I would say that's probably my strongest feature."
