Micah Johnson has no permanent nerve damage according to the doctors who performed his right-elbow surgery Tuesday.
The White Sox prospect, who stole 84 bases in the minors in 2013, should be ready for the beginning of spring training as doctors discovered the ligament in his elbow is normal, a team official said.
Johnson had been participating in the Arizona Fall League this month until he was shutdown to have surgery. It’s the second time Johnson, a ninth-round pick out of Indiana University in 2012, has had elbow surgery.
Johnson had a .312/.373/.451 line with 24 doubles, 15 triples and seven homers in 131 games between Single-A and Double-A this season.
