White Sox center fielder Adam Eaton left Friday's game against the Seattle Mariners with a sore rib cage, the team announced.
Eaton led the game off with a nine-pitch at-bat against starter Hisashi Iwakuma but could not finish his run to first base after grounding out to third.
He was replaced by Leury Garcia. Eaton had missed Thursday's game against the Texas Rangers after crashing into the outfield wall Wednesday night, injuring his back.
In 94 games this year, Eaton is batting .304 with one home run, 32 RBIs, 55 runs scored and 12 stolen bases.
