The White Sox attendance numbers are in free fall.

Chicago’s South Side team finished the 2013 season with an average of 22,105 fans per game, which is a nine percent decrease from last year and their lowest average since 2002, according to Crain’s Chicago Business.

The average ticket price was 10 percent lower than it was last year at $26.05 and the price for parking was also lowered.

Even with the drop in prices, the 2013 season was the second straight season in which fewer than 2 million tickets were sold. Early in the season it appeared that the drop in prices was effective, but after the All-Star break ticket sales took a major hit.

This past year was the worst season for the White Sox in terms of winning percentage (.389) since 1970.
