Lake Buena Vista, Fla. -- The White Sox have acquired outfielder Adam Eaton from the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday in a three-team deal, a baseball source confirmed.
The White Sox have agreed to trade Hector Santiago, who will head to the Los Angeles Angels with Arizona prospect Tyler Skaggs in exchange for Mark Trumbo the source said.
Santiago turns 26 next week and was a valuable swingman for manager Robin Ventura the last two years, making 27 starts and 49 relief appearances with a 3.49 ERA in 219.1 innings.
Eaton just turned 25 and was ranked as the No. 73 prospect in the game by Baseball America prior to the 2013 season. The former 19th-round pick has spent the majority of his time in center field and is an on-base machine, with a career .450 OBP in more than 1,500 minor-league plate appearances.
