White Sox: How Todd Frazier's brothers hold him accountable

There are many ways for players to stay motivated heading into a new season.

For new White Sox third baseman Todd Frazier, he keeps old school and within the family.

Frazier described to CSN's Siera Santos his preseason tradition with his older brothers where he writes out his goals for the year on a piece of paper and sends them the note through the mail to hold on to until the end of the season.

"I always set my goals really high," Frazier told CSN. "I always do them basically the first week before games start. I have a little thing I do with my two older brothers where I send them a paper in the mail saying what I'm trying to get whether it's runs scored, RBIs, home runs, and I try to meet those expectations.

"Whether they put it on their fridge or leave it in the envelope and shove it in a drawer, it doesn't matter to me. But when we look at it when the year is done, sometimes I even forget what I wrote down there. It's like 'Oh man, you had three more RBI than you thought.' Like last year, I had more home runs than I expected so we need to make that goal a little higher. It's cool for them because then like a month before the season ends it's like 'Alright man, come on. You need this many before the season ends.' It makes me want to build and be a better athlete as the season goes on."
