The White Sox brass had their first look at Cuban first baseman Jose Abreu during the club's mini-hitter camp at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Ariz.

First impression? Abreu wowed everybody, including general manager Rick Hahn and hitting coach Todd Steverson.

Abreu, along with Matt Davidson, Adam Eaton, Josh Phegley, Marcus Semien, Courtney Hawkins, Jared Mitchell, Trayce Thompson, Keenyn Walker participated in fielding, running and batting drills during the three-day camp.

"That's a strong man right here," Steverson said. "That's a big man. He has a nice smooth, compact approach. He didn't try to do too much with the ball and the ball was flying off his bat. I think he has a nice bright future coming up with him."
