The White Sox announced on Tuesday they have placed pitcher Matt Lindstrom on the 15-day disabled list with a a sublexing peroneal (outside) tendon in his left ankle.
In a corresponding move, the White Sox purchased the contract of right-handed pitcher Javy Guerra from Triple-A Charlotte.
The 34-year-old Lindstrom suffered the injury during the ninth inning of Monday's victory over the Kansas City Royals. Lindstrom compiled a 2-1 record with a 3.32 ERA and six saves in 19 appearances in 2014.
The 28-year-old Guerra, who was claimed by the White Sox off waivers from the Los Angeles Dodgers on March 26, had a record of 1-1 with a 2.33 ERA and three saves in 14 appearances for Charlotte.
