The White Sox close a nine-game road trip in Kansas City and Jen Lada and Bill Melton are getting you ready with this week's White Sox Road Ahead, presented by Chicagoland and NW Indiana Honda Dealers.

The scuffling White Sox have now lost six of eight -- including their last two in Houston -- and travel to Kansas City to face a Royals team trending in the opposite direction.

In fact, the Royals have won six of their last eight to move back above .500 and seven games behind first-place Detroit in the AL Central.

And while pitching has helped them stay in contention early in the season, their offense has done little. They have scored 158 runs this season, fewest in the American League, and have scored two runs in their last four losses. That has Bill Melton thinking the White Sox could be able to steal a few wins if their bats come alive.

"The Kansas City Royals, much like the White Sox, are really struggling offensively -- they have the whole year. But the one thing about the Royals is they have outstanding starting pitching and a very good bullpen," Melton said. "I think this is gonna be a series that's all about playing fundamental baseball, not making mistakes like the White Sox have been doing."
