The White Sox head to Cleveland this week for a brief two-game set with the Indians before a three-game series with the Tigers in Detroit. CSN's Chuck Garfien and Bill Melton break down the upcoming matchups in the White Sox Road Ahead, presented by Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana Honda Dealers.
The White Sox are on a winning streak after starting the season at 0-4. It might be as small as a streak gets, at two, but the South Siders will certainly take it after stumbling out of the blocks of the 2015 campaign.
After taking a weekend set from the Twins, it's time to hit the road for five more games against division foes this week: two with the Indians in Cleveland and three with the Tigers in the Motor City.
The Tribe are on a three-game losing streak and sit at 2-4 in their first six games of the year. But the White Sox will be going up against two starting pitchers that delivered wins in each of their first starts of the season. Carlos Carrasco went 6 1/3 shutout innings and struck out 10 in his season debut, while Trevor Bauer pitched six shutout innings and had 11 strikeouts in his season-opener.

It'll then be the Tigers' top three starters — David Price, Justin Verlander and Anibal Sanchez — in the weekend series in Detroit.
So tough pitchers are on the menu this week for the White Sox. But Bill Melton says don't forget about the offenses, either.

"This Cleveland Indians team has a couple of really good starters," Melton said. "They've improved their bullpen tenfold. And they've got some pretty good offensive players, some All-Star players. Then you look at Detroit. And when you look at Detroit: mashers, that's all they are. They lose (Max) Scherzer, they lose (Rick) Porcello and stuff. But what do they come back with? They come back with the best offensive lineup there is. ... I think we're gonna get a slugfest here in Cleveland and Detroit."
