GLENDALE, Ariz. — Jose Abreu is scheduled to take his first unofficial at-bat of the season in Tuesday’s White Sox intrasquad game.
Most of the White Sox regulars are expected to appear in the game, which is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. CST, manager Robin Ventura said. That would mean the unofficial debuts for Abreu, Adam Eaton and rookie Matt Davidson, among others.
The White Sox open Cactus League play on Friday against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Camelback Ranch.

“You’re excited to see guys out playing a game,” Ventura said. “But when you’re playing against another team it always takes it to a different level and it’ll be nice to see (Abreu) out there. I’m sure he wants to get out there as much as everybody wants to see him out there because he’s tired of answering questions of what ifs and things like that. He’s ready to go to.”
Four pitchers are expected to pitch two innings apiece on Tuesday: Chris Beck, Scott Snodgress, Chris Bassitt and Andre Rienzo. Among other pitchers expected to participate are Nestor Molina, Jacob Petricka, Charlie Leesman, Deunte Heath and Brian Omogrosso.
