White Sox

After two blowout losses, the White Sox returned to what got them into the American League playoff race in Saturday's 8-2 win over the Yankees at U.S. Cellular Field.
Jeff Samardzija said he’s relieved to not have to uproot himself from Chicago for the second straight year, and believes the White Sox are contenders for a playoff spot this season.
The White Sox on Saturday placed outfielder J.B. Shuck on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left hamstring and recalled right-hander Scott Carroll from Triple-A Charlotte to aid a taxed bullpen.
