White Sox

White Sox pitcher Carlos Rodon returned from an extended break to provide another quality outing in the team's loss on Sunday, but the left-hander is hoping to be more efficient going forward.
Chris Sale will go for an MLB record on Monday night, and he'll do so while squaring off against White Sox favorite and 2005 World Series champion Mark Buehrle.
The White Sox haven't had any major defensive blunders during their four-game winning streak, but their defense still ranks last in Ultimate Zone Rating and second to last in Defensive Runs Saved.

Team talk

Per a report in the Boston Globe, the Red Sox and Blue Jays remain interested in trading for White Sox starter Gavin Floyd, although Kenny Williams doesn't appear willing to deal him.
  • 3y
A.J. Pierzynski will hit second and Alex Rios -- playing right field -- third when the White Sox kick off Cactus League play Monday against Los Angeles.
  • 3y
CSN's Chuck Garfien says talk is cheap in spring training, but Brent Lillibridge has some high hopes and says he sees the White Sox in a good spot come the end of the 2012 season.
  • 3y
Alexei Ramirez was part of the Cuban team that won Gold at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Greece, but his medal was "lost" in his travels from Cuba to Miami to Chicago.
  • 3y
A certain White Sox player was in attendance for Robin Ventura's fight with Nolan Ryan, while Matt Thornton will try to buck the trend of Sox closers being right-handed.
  • 3y
Robin Ventura's fight with Nolan Ryan produced arguably the defining image of the former third baseman's career. With Ventura now managing the Sox, the fight has come full circle, and not in the way you think.
  • 3y
Since the save became an official stat in 1969, only two White Sox lefties -- Wilbur Wood and Terry Forster -- have ever had 20 more more saves in a season. Can Matt Thornton break that trend in 2012?
