It isn't exactly the same magnitude of the blockbuster Carmelo Anthony deal, but the Bulls were active on the trade front Tuesday.

Second-year forward James Johnson was traded to the Toronto Raptors for a 2011 first-round draft pick. The pick was originally acquired from Miami as compensation for losing All-Star forward Chris Bosh in free agency.

Johnson, the Bulls' 2009 first-round draft pick and 16th overall, was recalled from a D-League assignment with the Iowa Energy last week. The 6-foot-9 Wake Forest product averaged 3.2 points and 1.8 rebounds in 13 games this season, but had seen limited action since early in the season. Johnson averaged 3.9 points and 2.0 rebounds in 65 games, including 11 starts, as a rookie last season.

Johnson's trade coincides with Monday's AOL Fanhouse report that the Bulls were set to work out four D-League players, though each of the quartet is a shooting guard. Thursday is the NBA's trade deadline.
