Bears Grades: Battling through injuries, secondary holds together

A position group short-handed because of cornerback Alan Ball hurting and an injury to a key starter generally performed adequately. The defense as a whole took a hit when safety and team leader Antrel Rolle had to be helped off the field in the third quarter with an ankle injury of undisclosed seriousness.

The secondary held its own through most of a first half without much pressure on Oakland quarterback Derek Carr. Rookie Adrian Amos continues to develop into a solid NFL safety, credited with five tackles for the game and stepping up particularly after Rolle was forced out of the game. Kyle Fuller delivered a textbook hit on a receiver in the third quarter to break up a third-down conversion and force Oakland to settle for a field goal and contributed 4 solo tackles

Tracy Porter had a shot to stop RB Roy Helu from going in with a touchdown pass in the second quarter but had a fundamental breakdowns and allowed Helu to get into the end zone. Porter also was tagged for a questionable hands-to-the-face penalty on what would have been a third-down stop in the third quarter.

The Raiders were held to 196 passing yards, the third time in four games that an opponent has been limited to fewer than 200 passing yards.
