What a difference a year makes.
One year ago, Bears linebacker Jonathan Bostic was like every other rookie, trying to get acclimated to the life of a player in the NFL. Now entering his second year, Bostic claims he's already feeling more comfortable with his role on the defense.
"Last year, I was doing a lot of things I've never been asked to do, kind of unorthodox to me, really kind of seemed bizarre," Bostic said. "I had to think a lot more. But this year I'm back to playing how I've always been taught to play."
It's been no secret throughout training camp that all of the linebackers, except for veteran Lance Briggs, are fighting for starting spots on the defense. For the former Florida Gator standout, competition between his fellow linebackers can only be seen as a positive thing.
"There are guys that are pushing some of the veterans," Bostic said. "Going out there and making each other better is only going to help the position group."
