What scouts are saying:

"Built well and has the physical appearance of a NFL back with good body thickness and a compact frame. Good forward lean and leg drive to run through contact. His offensive line doesn't do him many favors opening holes, but he shows enough vision to attack through creases and run downhill to the second level. Fluid changing directions without having to slow down, which makes him tough to target for defenders to hit cleanly." - Dane Brugler and Rob Rang, CBSSports.com

"Powerful, compact runner with a low center of gravity. Efficient and decisive. Makes defenders miss with slight movement and hand usage. Won't succumb to arm tackles. Gained 54 percent of his yardage after contact from 2013-2014. Patient runner who gets the most from his runs. Has good speed in open field for a back his size. Balance is his friend. Smooth change-of-direction with little wasted motion. Gets low and finishes with leg drive. When he smells the end zone, he wants to eat." - Lance Zierlein, NFL.com

Fit for the Bears:

Cobb is a talented running back who has impressed at pre-Draft events. But running back is one position the Bears seem to have on lockdown. Matt Forte has established himself has one of the best and most reliable ball-carriers in football, and the Bears don't figure to be shopping for a replacement in the draft. An heir, though, could be a different story. General manager Ryan Pace acquired veteran Jacquizz Rodgers this offseason to back up Forte, but the draft might be a place to grab some insurance just in case Rodgers goes the way of past backups Chester Taylor, Marion Barber, Khalil Bell and Michael Bush. And perhaps Cobb could be that guy.
