SEATTLE — Third preseason games are usually the most interesting from the standpoint of watching No. 1’s opposing No. 1’s. But the Bears and Seattle Seahawks on Friday night will have a couple of novelties of note.
Bears tight end Martellus Bennett could well be tasked with blocking none other than his brother Michael, a Seattle defensive end who re-signed with the Seahawks after considering a deal with the Bears last offseason. The latter Bennett, older by a year-and-a-half, has been slowed by a hamstring strain during training camp but is expected to play.
It will actually mark the fourth time the two have faced each other, the last two years ago when Michael was with Tampa Bay and Martellus with the Giants. “It’s going to be fun,” Michael told the Seattle Times. “It’s one of those things where you are going against your brother. You want to whup him. You want to beat him. And hopefully nobody gets hurt.”
