The Bears won't be asking former Northern Illinois quarterback Jordan Lynch to throw the ball after moving the Heisman Trophy finalist to running back.
But that didn't stop another Chicago team from asking Lynch to throw for them.
Lynch threw out the ceremonial first pitch on Thursday night at the White Sox-Tigers game, and then joined the broadcast booth with Steve Stone and Ken "Hawk" Harrelson.
The White Sox pitching staff has eight blown saves this season and Lynch — with his pitching background — joked that maybe he could aid Chicago's bullpen.
"I'll be willing to spring out from the dugout and help you guys out," Lynch said. "I have a little background in baseball and played all the way through high school."
