With free agency approaching on Tuesday, the Bears are close to locking up D.J. Williams, as first reported by the Chicago Tribune.
[REPORT: Michael Bennett signs with Seattle]
Williams signed a one-year deal with the Bears prior to the 2013 season after spending the previous nine with the Denver Broncos. His season was cut short after he ruptured his pectoral tendon in Week 6 against the Giants which kept him out for the season.
In six starts with the Bears last season, he recorded 39 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and one forced fumble.
