The original Air Jordan VI shoe debuted in 1991 when Michael Jordan was busy guiding the Bulls to their first NBA title against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Now, Seattle Seahawks star safety Earl Thomas is hoping the sneakers can bring his team the same luck.
Thomas will be wearing the traditional mid-cut Air Jordan VI in the Super Bowl. The shoes feature the Seahawks' action green and navy colors. They also display Thomas' number 29, embroidered on the cleat's heel.
Thomas, who was drafted by the Seahawks in the first-round of the 2010 NFL Draft, was selected to the Pro Bowl for the third time in his career after accumulating 105 tackles and five interceptions.
The 24-year-old safety will try to help the Seahawks capture their first Super Bowl victory in franchise history against the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
