Jalen Brunson has a list of his top eight schools ... and a pretty good hand for PhotoShop.
The top Class of 2015 recruit in the state of Illinois tweeted out his list of the final eight schools he’s considering on Saturday afternoon, with half the schools on his list coming from the Big Ten, including Illinois.
In addition to the Fighting Illini, Brunson placed Michigan, Michigan State and Purdue on his list. Newly minted national champion UConn also made the cut, as did national powers Kansas and Villanova. Temple is also on the list.
This is good news for John Groce and the Illini, showing that the program is still capable of courting the Chicago area’s top talent. However, landing that top talent is another story, and Illini fans hope Brunson doesn’t break their hearts the same way Cliff Alexander did when making his college choice.
Brunson ranks as the state’s top recruit for the 2015 recruiting class and the No. 14 recruit in the country, per rankings on rivals.com. The Stevenson High School guard was one of the area’s top players this season, really making himself known with a 56-point performance against Whitney Young in the state semifinals.
I want to thank all the coaches that have put the time into recruiting me. This is my final 8 in no particular order! pic.twitter.com/A3yiGcgurt— Jalen Brunson (@jbcrossover5) May 3, 2014
