While many Blackhawk fans consider themselves Chicago ‘die-hards,’ one fan is taking his dedication to the Blackhawks to new levels.
Momence native Russell Pederson took it upon himself to prematurely engrave a ‘2013’ championship tattoo on his previously tattooed arm dating back to the 2010 Stanley Cup champions. Pederson has no doubt that the Hawks will once again hold up Lord Stanley’s Cup.
"I played hockey into my 30s and I've been a Blackhawks fan all my life. So, when the Hawks won in 2010, I got this tattoo of the Stanley Cup," he said to the Daily Journal, referring to his right bicep that is already inked with every previous Blackhawk championship to date.
"And there is room there to add the year 2013, so I'm doing it. I'm having it put on today to show my faith in the team."
From heart attacks to premature championship tattoos, Chicago fans are counting on the Hawks to bring the Cup back home, a home that has a bunch of ‘die-hards’ waiting for them.
