ST. PAUL, Minn. — Nick Leddy talked on Tuesday morning about having a rough Game 2 and the need to be better. That chance to have a better game will have to wait.
Leddy, a native of nearby Eden Prairie, was scratched for Game 3 between the Chicago Blackhawks and Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night. It was a surprise, as Leddy played in all 82 games during the regular season and the first eight games of the postseason. Sheldon Brookbank was in for Leddy.
The 22-year-old defenseman had a tough outing in Game 2, as he was benched over the final 12 minutes of the third period of Chicago's 4-1 victory over Minnesota. Earlier on Tuesday, coach Joel Quenneville said Leddy needed more pace to his game.

Leddy admitted on Tuesday that there's always more excitement, and nerves, playing his hometown team.
"I've got all my friends and family watching so obviously that has a little bit of an effect. But there’s definitely more excitement," he said. "I don’t think (Game 2) was one of my better games. I have to get better and if I am, we’ll see what happens."
On the forward side, Brandon Bollig was back in for Game 3 after being a healthy scratch for Game 2. Jeremy Morin, who played about six minutes of Game 2, was out.
