1: Continue to get the “D” involved in the “O”: Whenever you have a highly skilled team like the Blackhawks playing as they are, the opposition has to pay special attention to the forwards. Kane, Toews, Hossa, Saad, and with Stalberg, Bickell, and Shaw coming on, the D-men may have a little more room. Just one goal from the back end over the last 8 games, let’s see a defenseman score tonight.

2: 3rd Line continue to Shine: What’s not to like about the 3rd line. They have size, they have speed, and maybe most importantly they have heart. They have also scored 8 goals in the last 7 games. You might be able to match up against a first and second line of the other team, but when you have a 3rd line doing this kind of damage, it’s hard to contain them all.

3: 1st Place is wrapped up in the west, but don’t take your foot off the gas: Head coach Joel Quenneville has the luxury of not having to play guys all the time. That’s the reward for only having 5 games in regulation after you’ve played 42! It’s important, though, to play hard whenever you’re on the ice. As soon as you relax, that’s when you can get injured or fall into bad habits. The Hawks have prided themselves on outworking the opposition, and that can’t change.
