The word "snub" has accompanied Brandon Saad's name in many a headline since the United States Olympic roster was announced on New Year's Day.

According to several reports, the young Blackhawks forward was very close to making the team, which will compete in next month's Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Patrick Kane was the lone Blackhawk on the U.S. team, but one Blackhawks front-office member — a guy who knows quite a little something about winning hockey tournaments — thinks Saad should have been included, as well.

“He should be (on the team),” Blackhawks senior adviser Scotty Bowman said in an ESPN report. “He’s really coming on. He’s got 14 goals. He doesn’t play crazy minutes yet. He’s going to be an all-around player. He’s just got it. He’s strong on his feet. You can see his strength building up all the time.”

There was a great debate among which players deserved and didn't deserve to be on Team USA, but when someone who won nine Stanley Cups thinks you should be on the team, let's just say that opinion carries a bit of weight.
