For the 10th straight year, the Bears will face the Cleveland Browns to conclude their preseason, one heavy with AFC opponents.

The Bears will open the 2013 preseason on the road against Ron Rivera and the Carolina Panthers on an unspecified date between Aug. 8-11. The home preseason opener will be a nationally televised game on Thursday night Aug. 15 against the San Diego Chargers.

The game will mark the NFL coaching debut of coach Marc Trestman, who has been a head coach in Canada and a coordinator in the NFL.

The home portion of the preseason starts the following Thursday, Aug. 15, with a night game in Soldier Field against the San Diego Chargers. They will travel to Oakland to play the Raiders on the Aug. 22-25 weekend and return to wrap up with the Browns on Aug. 29.

The Bears preseason contests versus Carolina, Oakland and Cleveland will be produced and broadcast by the Chicago Bears Network in high definition. Each game will be shown live on WFLD-TV in Chicago and stations throughout the Midwest.

All four games will be broadcast on WBBM Radio (780 AM and 105.9 FM) with Jeff Joniak (play-by-play), Tom Thayer (color analyst) and Zach Zaidman (sideline reporter).

The regular-season schedule is due to be released on Monday Apr. 16. The Bears play at home against Detroit, Green Bay, Minnesota, Dallas, the New York Giants, New Orleans Saints, Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals.

They will go on the road to play Washington, Philadelphia, St. Louis, Cleveland and Pittsburgh in addition to Detroit, Green Bay and Minnesota.
