DETROIT -- Corey Crawford will get the start and Marian Hossa will play in his 1,000th career NHL game when the Chicago Blackhawks play the Detroit Red Wings this afternoon at Joe Louis Arena.

Crawford is making his first start since Thursday, when he started against St. Louis but left after the first period with an unspecified upper-body injury. Ray Emery came in in relief. Crawford is 8-2-2 with a 1.96 goals-against average for his career vs. the Wings.

Dave Bolland (upper body) is out for today's game. But coach Joel Quenneville said the center should be ready to go Tuesday, when the Blackhawks host the Minnesota Wild.

Steve Montador (concussion) is still skating and still improving, Quenneville said. But he has yet to be cleared.
