The word "disappointing" was thrown around the Blackhawks locker room following their 2-1 loss to the Anaheim Ducks on Friday. The Blackhawks failed to establish a lead at any point throughout that night against a team that went 10-0-2 when holding the lead at the start of the third period this year.
On Sunday, Chicago's story went a little differently. Jeremy Morin -- who was called up from the Rockford IceHogs one day prior -- recorded the first goal of the night during his first NHL shift this season. That was enough to get the ball rolling, and the Blackhawks came out with a 7-1 win against the Detroit Red Wings.
Tonight the Hawks will battle to continue that early momentum against Nashville.
The Predators are currently sitting in a 10th place tie in the Western Conference standings alongside the Stars and the Oilers. They're two points away from playoff contention, and after dropping their two previous matchups to the Coyotes and Avalanche, they'll be looking to get back on track at the United Center.
The last time these two teams met back on Feb. 10, the Blackhawks came out with a 3-0 victory. As the regular season winds down, these two teams have four matchups packed in against each other between now and April 19. Tonight will likely set the tone for the remaining games the Blackhawks and Predators will play against each other as the playoff race continues.
