1. These Sharks try to frustrate you: San Jose started the season on a torrid pace. They won their first seven games and scored a total of 29 goals. Now, they have scored just a total of 10 goals during their last eight games. The way they try to win is by grinding it out, frustrating you all over the ice, and waiting for you to make mistakes. You have to stay patient.

2. Don’t let the penalty kill slide: The penalty kill has been a huge part of the success of the Blackhawks thus far. They are currently ranked third overall in the NHL in the penalty kill department. They have given up a power play goal in each of the last two games, the first time they have allowed consecutive ones this year. Time to be perfect on the penalty kill again.

3. Do it for history’s sake: It has been well documented, should the Blackhawks win or tie in regulation, they will set a new NHL record for consecutive games without a regulation defeat to start a season. The players say it hasn’t been on their minds at all, and it probably hasn’t. But in a shortened NHL season with 10 of your first 12 games on the road, it certainly is something to be proud of.
