Scottie Pippen, former Bulls' forward, was involved in a fight outside of a sushi restaurant in Malibu that sent a man to a hospital over the weekend.
Steve Whitmore, a spokesperson from the Los Angeles sheriff's office, said Pippen was at the Nobu Malibu restaurant when a fight broke out between Pippen and another man around 6:30 p.m.
Witnesses told police that the fight broke out in the parking lot near a valet stand.
Pippen left the restaurant after the fight and the condition or age of the other man involved is unknown. Whitmore says detectives are investigating the altercation.
"Charges could follow, we don't know," Whitmore said. "We have to investigate and check with all the witnesses and find out exactly what happened."
Pippen has not been arrested, but has turned himself over to the police to be questioned.
"He came in to be interviewed, he's been cooperative," said Whitmore. "Mr. Pippen will not be arrested, there's more here than meets the eye."
Pippen could face assault charges with intent to cause great bodily injury, according to Whitmore.
