Bulls: Cowley discusses reported disconnect between Rose, coaching staff

The spotlight always seems to find Derrick Rose.

During the offseason, Rose broke an orbital bone in his face during practice when he was elbowed by a teammate. Then, the rumors of a rift between Jimmy Butler and Rose surfaced again just before the start of the season. Now, speculation has begun that a Bulls-Rose separation has become inevitable.

Sun-Times columnist Joe Cowley joined SportsNet Central to talk about Rose's "coachability" concerns with new head coach Fred Hoiberg and how there's been a history of concerns with other coaching staffs.

"With Derrick, when isn't there a disconnect?" Cowley said. "Last year, he had the disconnect with Tom (Thibodeau). Tom would tell him to attack all the time. There was a disconnect with Coach K in the summer as far as his health, what drills he could do with Team USA. This is kind of an ongoing thing."
