Will Wizards big man Nene get a suspension following his Game 3 dust-up with the Bulls' Jimmy Butler?
Joakim Noah seems to think so.
Per a report on Game 3 from the Washington Post's Mike Wise, Noah was pretty confident after the Bulls' 100-97 win that Nene, who was ejected for grabbing Butler's head, would be forced to sit out Game 4 on Sunday:
Going on midnight Friday, Joakim Noah, America’s most ornery, nails-on-a-chalkboard player, rubbed salt on the wound.
“Looks like you’re going to lose Nene for a game,” the Chicago Bulls center said to no one in particular as he shuffled down the hall outside the Verizon Center press room. Almost cackling, he added, “What a bummer. (Stinks) for you guys.”
There's no reason to be surprised that Nene's potential absence would be good news for Noah and the Bulls. Nene has played very well so far in the series. He combined for 41 points and 15 rebounds in the first two games in Chicago, and despite playing just 29 minutes of Game 3, he totaled 10 points, four rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals.
Still, Nene has now failed to finish all three of the games in this series. He fouled out of the first two before Friday night's ejection.
