The Indiana Pacers already have an All-Star center in Roy Hibbert and now have added a former All-Star to their impressive frontcourt.

On Saturday morning, the Pacers officially announced that they have signed center Andrew Bynum for the remainder of the season. Bynum, who was immediately waived by the Bulls after they acquired him and future draft choices from the Cleveland Cavaliers for Luol Deng on Jan. 7, was averaging 8.4 points and 5.3 rebounds in 24 games with the Cavs this season.

The Pacers, at 35-10, have the best record in the Eastern Conference and the signing of Bynum may have been made to keep him away from other contenders, including the Miami Heat, who were rumored to be interested in his services.

The 26-year-old Bynum has career averages of 11.5 PPG and 7.7 rebounds in 416 games combined with the Los Angeles Lakers and Cavaliers.
