As the Bulls still sit on the list of frontrunners for free-agent superstar Carmelo Anthony, they also appear to be among the favorites to land another free agent.
According to a report from Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski, the Bulls and Thunder "lead the way" to land free-agent big man Pau Gasol.

Gasol, whose name has been tied to Anthony's at times during this ongoing saga, has spent the past seven seasons with the Lakers — who Wojnarowski indicated are still in the running to re-sign the four-time All Star. The Lakers are also one of the teams attempting to lure Anthony.
In his 13-year NBA career, Gasol has averaged 18.3 points per game and 9.2 rebounds per game. He was a member of a pair of NBA championship-winning Laker teams alongside Kobe Bryant.
Gasol has missed significant time over the past three seasons and has appeared in more than 65 games just twice in the past six seasons. Still, his numbers were solid last year, a significant improvement upon the previous season. During the 2013-14 campaign, he averaged 17.4 points and 9.7 rebounds over 60 games.
With All-Star center Joakim Noah, power forward Taj Gibson and incoming rookie big-man Nikola Mirotic all on the team for next season, Gasol would figure to play a smaller role should he land with the Bulls.
