Derrick Williams got the last laugh on the Bulls on Monday in Sacramento, but for one play it was the Kings small forward who became the laughingstock of an unfortunate fail.
With the Kings leading the Bulls 95-67 with 3 minutes to play, Williams stole a DJ Augustin pass intended for Erik Murphy and found himself alone on a breakaway.
Known as one of the best jumpers in the NBA, Williams decided to add a little flare in front of the Bulls bench by trying an alley-oop off the backboard to himself.
Except it didn't go as planned.
Williams tossed the ball too high, fumbled the catch and lost the ball to Murphy, who went the other way.
As Stacey King put it: "Too much mustard on the hot dog."
Williams finished with five points and nine rebounds in 24 minutes in Sacramento's 99-70 win.
