While the Bulls have explored all avenues regarding buyout candidates, the team is rumored to be zeroing in on former Sacramento Kings guard Jimmer Fredette.
Fredette, in his third NBA Season, has averaged a career-low 5.9 points per game in 11.3 minutes. But Fredette is known as three-point specialist, an area the Bulls desperately need help.

Bulls.com's Sam Smith joined SportsNet Central to weigh in on the Fredette rumor and share his thoughts on if he would get any playing time under Tom Thibodeau in Chicago.
"Yes, but not a lot," Smith said. "I think that's why if it does turn out to be him, it's a reasonable choice. Thibodeau isn't going to vary the rotation. He's going to play the guys he wants and knows. Anybody coming in is going to get limited time, but if you're going to get limited time, a shooter is the best kind of guy."
