The Cubs' Double-A affiliate in Tennessee clinched a playoff berth Monday night and it should come as no surprise Javier Baez was a big reason why.

The Cubs' top prospect homered and drove in four runs as the Smokies took down the Mobile BayBears 6-0 to improve to 71-61 on the season and 37-26 in the season's second half.
Baez has been putting up ridiculous numbers for Tennessee, hitting .308/.360/.656 (1.016 OPS) with 14 doubles, 18 homers and 48 RBI in just 48 games. He has 35 homers and 105 RBI overall between Double-A and High-A Daytona.
Mick Gillispie of Smokies on the Radio caught up with Baez after the victory last night and the slugger said his ultimate goal is to not only make the big leagues, but put up the same kind of numbers for the Cubs.
