Jordan Lynch might not have won the Heisman Trophy, but he and Jameis Winston do have something in common: They're both on the AP All-America Team.

Lynch was named to the team as the "all-purpose player" when the rosters were announced Tuesday. Winston, the Heisman winner from Florida State, was the quarterback on the team.
"All-purpose player" is a pretty fitting term for the Northern Illinois quarterback, who just this past weekend finished third in Heisman balloting, the highest finish ever for a player from a non-automatic-qualifying conference. Lynch was the nation's second-leading rusher, gaining 1,881 yards on the ground this season. He also threw for 2,676 yards and scored 46 total touchdowns -- including one receiving.
It's just the latest accolade for the record-setting NIU quarterback, who will play his final game as a Huskie in the upcoming Poinsettia Bowl.
Additionally, NIU safety Jimmie Ward was named a third-team All America.
