Just as Notre Dame gained a verbal commit, it lost another.
Four-star linebacker Richard Yeargin III (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) decommitted from Notre Dame Friday, according to multiple reports. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound outside linebacker has been linked to Clemson with less than two weeks until signing day on Feb. 5. If Yeargin does wind up at Clemson, he could face Notre Dame in 2015 when the Irish head to Death Valley for an early October date with the Tigers.
Yeargin committed to Notre Dame Aug. 2, 2013, and is rated by Rivals as the No. 24 outside linebacker in the recruiting class of 2014.
Notre Dame's class of 2014 now has 20 verbal commits and two early enrollees (wide receiver Justin Brent, defensive end Andrew Trumbetti).
