Notre Dame safety Austin Collinsworth (neck) has been cleared to play Saturday at Pitt, coach Brian Kelly told reporters in South Bend on Thursday.
Collinsworth underwent an MRI on his neck Monday that came back negative, but had experienced some spasms and other soft tissue problems stemming from Notre Dame's Nov. 2 win over Navy.

Notre Dame will also get safety Elijah Shumate (hamstring) back Saturday, according to Kelly.
Nose guard Louis Nix will play against Pitt after practicing this week, Kelly told reporters Thursday. On Tuesday, Kelly said he expected Nix to play Saturday, although it's likely to be in a limited role.
Left guard Chris Watt (knee) will play as well, as will defensive end Sheldon Day (ankle).
